Saranagati : Surrender

New Govardhana's Vaisnava Care team has been providing support to devotees in their final days for the last 15 years, offering kirtana, reading Srila Prabhupada’s books, bringing prasadam, and providing companionship to ensure optimal Krishna consciousness at the time of passing.

Now, they aim to establish Saranagati House, a dedicated facility for this purpose, near the New Govardhana temple.

Funding is needed for this project, and donations are welcomed. Additionally, volunteers will be needed for various tasks once the facility is operational.

One of the most important themes in the writings of Srila Prabhupada is the need to prepare to leave this world in full remembrance of Krishna – ante nārāyaṇa-smṛtiḥ:

tasmāt sarveṣu kāleṣu
mām anusmara yudhya ca
mayy arpita-mano-buddhir
mām evaiṣyasy asaṁśayaḥ

Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt”  (Bhagavad Gita 8.7)

Increasingly, as the movement in the West approaches its seventh decade, there is a significant cohort of devotees whose passing from this world is imminent.

Your contribution, whether through donation or volunteering, can make a profound difference in ensuring a peaceful transition for our fellow devotees.

Act now to create a sanctuary where love, care, and Krishna consciousness support those on their final journey.
